The Road (trailer)

I've been pretty excited about this new Cormac McCarthy adaptation for awhile now, and the trailer has just been released:Thoughts?

Looks aight; glad they got Viggo on-board. I don't like how it seems like they hint at a natural-disaster type scenerio that is respionsible for the apocolyptic world 'the road' takes place in; part of what made the novel so scary and disquieting is that you do not know what happened, why it happened, where it happened. You are given so little information about these kind of things that it almost could have taken place on another planet. And the wife/mother character seems to be in it too much (but perhaps it just seems that way because of the way they edited the preview). But I am certainly looking forward too it.

yeah, seems like they are trying to capitalize on the "inconvenient truth/11th hour/doomsday" scenario a bit too much in the trailer, as well as the husband/wife relaish...hopefully that's just the trailer trying to draw people in though, and not the focus of the film...

I agree, not thrilled that they put this global-warming spin on whatever the disaster was the took place. Hopefully it won't be a major theme of the movie, maybe they just figured that the masses would want some reasoning. So long as it doesn't become some moral of the story I'll be ok with it.

Mangz. Can't believe how many of these end of the world movies are kicking about or in production. Getting annoying.
